Here’s What to Do When Your Furnace Won’t Ignite
We are trudging through the last of the weeks of winter but we still are relying on our furnaces, especially during frigid nights. Nothing is worse than going to bed at night just to realize your furnace won’t kick on. If this happens to you, here are a few things you can check yourself prior to calling Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning.
Check Air Filters
You should change standard air filters each month. If you fail to do so, they can end up clogged, blocking air flow and resulting in your furnace malfunctioning.
Check Your Thermostat
Try turning the temperature up a few degrees to get the furnace to kick on. If the current room temperature is higher than the thermostat, the heating system won’t turn on. Also, make sure the system switch is on “heat” or “auto.”
Check the Power
It may seem ridiculous, but verify the power switch next to the furnace is “On.” Even gas heating systems use electricity so verify the breaker has not tripped and that the power switch was not accidently moved to the “Off” position.
If you review all these things and your heating equipment will still not start up, give Service Experts Heating & Air Conditioning a call at 954-736-4314 and we’ll come out and take care of you as soon as possible.
