Painting Vans Pink in the Fight Against Breast Cancer

September 27, 2016

Two Service Experts centers are making a statement this October with pink vans. Fras-Air/General Service Experts and Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning of Raleigh are each going to paint two of their work vans pink for the fight against breast cancer.

During the month of October, Fras-Air/General Service Experts will be giving 20% of all sales from their pink vans to their local Susan G. Komen chapter to help raise money to help cure breast cancer. Service Experts of Raleigh will be giving 5% of all sales from their pink vans plus $10 for every Precision tune-up to their local chapter, Susan G. Komen North Carolina Triangle to the Coast.

This is the second year Fras-Air/General Service Experts has painted a couple of their vans pink to fundraise for this great cause. In 2015, Fras-Air donated over $7,000 to Komen North Jersey. David Schneider, the general manager and one of his technicians both lost their mothers to alternative forms of cancer and were motivated to help other families.

“The National Cancer Institute reported that 107,184 women in New Jersey faced breast cancer in 2016,” Schneider said. “While the quantity of cases is actually going down each year, that still represents a huge number of families who are dealing with this disease, and therefore we have an urgent need for research and support.”

Chris Overton, the General Manager for Service Experts of Raleigh, echoed Schneider’s thoughts. “As reported by the North Carolina State Center for Health Statistics, breast cancer is the most prominent type of cancer in our state – for women and men.”
